LG will be the sole supplier of the next gen Apple Watch this year, with the potential release date being somewhere in the month of April 2016. Apple Watch was recently released with an overwhelming response from the customers. Its hype is yet to simmer down, and Apple is all set to launch the successor of the watch.

The watch will include LG's signature P-OLED display panels, which helped LG to collect a revenue of $186 million in the first quarter of 2015, according to news reports by Ecumenical.

This technology allows the usage of thin bezels which can be fixed in a variety of shapes, making it easier to wear these devices like smart watches. It also helps LG to be the leading supplier of the smart watch hardware in the entire world currently, as per The Next Digit.

The P-OLED display makes the surface of the watch flexible and energy efficient, as it bend very easily. In addition to that, it also eats less battery and offers a very high resolution than the traditional LCD screens. Apple doubles up this protection with the use of sapphire in it coating, to protect the watch from scratches and bumps.

The clarity and the high resolution of the display is the USP of Apple, be it in phones or watches. With Apple Watch 2, the trend will not only continue but also bring in a new revolution with its superb display.

This continued partnership between Apple and LG will ensure that the watch will again sell like hot cakes, just like its predecessor. LG proved to be a real asset for Apple earlier as well and it proved its worth with its ability to manufacture the high quality screens in minimum amount of time. This watch will also include the same P-OLED display technology which was seen in the earlier version of the Apple watch.

As the original version of the Apple watch came in multiple variants and colors, so it is speculated that its successor will also be launched in numerous options. It may be launched in new colors as well.
