According to Gamerant, Bungie unvealed "The Taken King" DLC expansion for "Destiny" during their presentation at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo today. Bungie showcased a new gameplay trailer for "The Taken King" DLC along with a confirmed launch date on Sept. 15, 2015.

As seen in the video, the Guardians will be facing a new race of enemies called "The Taken," led by the self entitled Taken King, Oryx. It is up to the Guardians to combat this new threat and defeat the Taken King before the universe will be covered in eternal darkness.

Polygon reported that "The Taken King" expansion will have new sub-classes for each Guardian type with new weapons and super moves. The Warlock class will have new lighting based attacks, the Hunters will brandish a new void blow capable of firing elemental arrows and the Titans are equipped with a new Solar hammer adding more damage to there already brute strength.

"The Taken King" expansion for "Destiny" was first mentioned when a leaked photo of the new expansion was found in a pack of Red Bull energy drinks. It was previously reported that Bungie will have a marketing collaboration with Red Bull in order to promote the third "Destiny" expansion.

Kotaku, on the other hand, reported that the new "Destiny" expansion will include new story missions, new strike missions, new PvP Maps, new raids and new gears.

Aside from the new gameplay details and release date, "The Taken King" expansion will also have a physical release in the form of a collecetor's edition. The Collector's edition will include the "Destiny" video game, a steebook case, a collection of relics and artifacts, a Strange coin replica, early access weapons and a Cayde-6 Intel Cache.


There will also be a digital copy of "The Taken King" expansion complete with all three expansion packs, original game and a new cache of aid items. Both collector's editions will cost around $80 while the "Legendary Edition" is worth $60.

"Destiny" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
