'Mirror's Edge Catalyst' To Recieve Multiplayer Features Says DICE; Gun Gameplay No Longer Included In The Prequel!

According to Gamerant, DICE and EA Games are thinking and developing new ways of how to impove "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" in terms of gameplay features and storylines.

It was previous reported that both EA and DICE streamed the official trailer of "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" during their E3 2015 presentation in the Los Angeles Convention Center this week.It features both gameplay and plot details as "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" will take place several years before the first game and sees the origin story of its protagonist Faih Connors.
"Mirror's Edge Catalyst" will feature a new open-world envirement and improved parkour and combat system. IGN reported that DICE representative Patrick Basch revealed that "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" will have a multiplayer gameplay feature but with a twist.
He stated that "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" multiplayer will not be a standard competitive and co-op kind of gameplay a s described it as "an asynchronous connection" were the gamers actions will affect the other players within "Mirror's Edge Catalyst".
Basch also cited an example were in Faith hacks into a billboard. One of the player's hacked billboards can appear within another player's game time. Meaning, that player's presents is indirectly felt by another player within the game.
Aside from the new multiplayer features, DICE also revealed that they will not on gun style gameplay within "Mirror's Edge Catalyst", Engadget reported.
According to Techno Buffalo, Sarah Jansson, Senior producer of "Mirror's Edge" confirmed that the game will no longer have gun gameplay. The original "Mirror's Edge" game had a gun gameplay but the website noted that it defeated the purpose of the original game, which was to get away from enemies, not kill them.
“In Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, you won’t be using any guns at all" Jansson said. "We’ve completely removed that aspect of the game. You can’t even pick them up.”
Although guns are no longer a factor within the game, Faith can still fight using her parkour moves and hand-to-hand combat in "Mirror's Edge Catalyst."
"Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is set to launch on Feb. 23, 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and for the PC.
