With James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan and Joe Gomez officially transferred to Anfield this summer, Liverpool is confident they can achieve a lot more next season because of these acquisitions. However, the Reds aren't done yet as they look to salvage Asier Illarramendi from Real Madrid, according to TalkSports.com

After Real Madrid CF denied their proposal of €22 million to sign defensive midfielder Asier Illaramendi, Spanish newspaper claimed that Livepool FC have submitted another offer to the 25-year old defensive midfielder. According to Marca, the Merseyside club's re-offer to the Madrid man Spanish giant could be around the €25 million to €30 million price range - which is the exact transfer fee being demanded by Real Madrid.
Illaramendi's motivation to leave Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid CF stemmed from the lack of playing time he received from Los Blancos top boss last season. Illarramendi's camp believed a potential move to Liverpool FC would allow him to get steady playing time and show his full potential for a prestigious football club.
The Reds are also optimistic that the newly-signed Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez would help them secure the transfer deal for the midfielder because of his good connection with the Merseyside club.
But before they make a move for Illarramendi, Liverpool has to make sure they already settled their issue with forward Fabio Borini, who desires to leave the team this summer. With only 18 caps last season in all competitions, the Red forward wished to switch teams in hope of getting more playing time next season.
Marco De Marchi agent told Italian Corriere dello Sport, via Guardian that Borini wants a fresh environment and hopes Liverpool FC would understand their situation
According to sources, Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A clubs are eager to have their hands on Borini. Although the flow of offers slowed down a bit because of managerial changes in the leagues, Borini remains a target of several high-caliber ballclubs.
Last season, Borini was closed to move to Sunderland after the Reds agreed a deal for €12 million but he didn't accept the deal. While he is contracted for the Reds until 2016, Liverpool FC might need some extra cash for them to make other transactions for the remainder of the offseason.
