The Heroic Universe further noted that since season 2 of "The Flash" will likely focus on the DC multiverse, there is a high chance that comic fans will get their wish on meeting other DC characters from the different universes.
The "Smallville" TV series has introduced a variety of DC characters such as Green Arrow, Aquaman, Black Canary, Cyborg and many more. In fact, there is also an introduction of this show's Flash Bart Allen who takes the code name Impulse at the time, so it is likely that Superman will appear in the show.
However, the Latin Post noted that since DC intends to use different actors for their TV and movie universes, there is a small chance that Welling will not return as Clark Kent anytime soon.
Aside from Welling returning as Superman, Fansided reported that the original Scarlet Speedster Jay Garrick could also appear in "The Flash" TV series. The website theorized that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is not the hero that saved Central City in the leaked plot synopsis of the season 2 premiere episode, but rather Jay Gerrick.
@BamSmackPow its obvious "The Man Who Saved Central City" is Jay Garrick. Barry needs a new mentor this yr. #TheFlash

It was previously reported that showrunners Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg wrote the script for the first episode of season 2, with Ralph Hemecker directing it. There are also new villains that rumored to be introduced in the series such as Mirror Master, Doctor Alchemy and Zavatar.
KpopStarz also reported that Kreisberg confirmed both Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Caithlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker) will be re-introduced this season as their alter-egos Vibe and Killer Frost. It was already hinted in the season 1 finale that Vibe can "see" other dimensions, while Killer Frost was spotted in another dimension when "The Flash" travels back in time.
Kreisberg also hinted the possibility that Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. The Reverse-Flash, will likely return in the series as Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and will become a series regular although it is not specified whether this is the "real" Harrison Wells or Thawne in disguised again.
"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 6, 2015 on the CW Network.
