Following DeAndre Jordan's change of heart to ditch his promise to the Dallas Mavericks and stay with the Los Angeles Clippers, rumors have emerged that the Clips are now contemplating on a potential Chris Paul-Kyrie Irving trade with Eastern Conference champions Cleveland Cavaliers.

While it is extremely unlikely that L.A. will part ways with arguably the best floor general in the NBA today, Bleacher Report indicated that Jordan's agent, Dan Fegan, told head coach Doc Rivers that CP3 has to go for his client to continue playing for the franchise.

The rift between the two stars had been widely reported in the past months. Stories were out that the two-time NBA rebounding leader was not happy of the 8-time All-Star's endless yelling and "petty gestures" in showing his disgust for the center, such as giving "high-fives to the three other guys on the floor following a timeout" except Jordan.

However, despite of this notorious misunderstanding, most NBA analysts believe that it would be unwise for Jordan's camp to demand Paul's exit as it was the latter's play and passes that are making him the kind of offensive player that he is right now.

But if the rumors were true, Fansided suggested that a possible destination for the 2013 All-Star Game MVP is the Cleveland Cavaliers and a swap for Kyrie Irving would greatly benefit both teams eventually.

The report said that the Cavs and Paul would gain in the process as LeBron James is good friends with the point guard and they both want to "win now" in this stage of their careers. James wants to add more to his ring collection while Paul wants to have at least one of his own.

The Clippers were also reportedly set to benefit with Irving joining a younger core with Jordan and Blake Griffin, something that some analysts suggest would finally push them past the second round of the playoffs with the playmaker's scoring, outside shooting, and clutch abilities.

Irving will also not dominate the spotlight in L.A. like Paul does, which will make Jordan and Griffin happier in sharing it among the three of them equally.

Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix suggested the idea of the younger trio as opposed to a 30-year-old running Rivers' show. Irving is currently 23 years old while the two towers are both 26, so the Clips are set to benefit from that superb core for a longer time period.
