Good news DC fans as new updates for "The Flash" season 2 have been revealed regarding a new cast member, costume, powers and villains within the show.
Screenrant reports that CW Network and DC has just revealed a new costume for Barry Allen in season 2 of "The Flash" and its design is very similar to the classic Flash costume within the comics.

As seen on the photo above, Grant Gustin's character will sport the white lightning emblem on his chest similar to his comic book counterpart and Barry will likely have a much brighter red color scheme as well. Note that the classic bright red costume was first appeared in the pilot episode of "The Flash" as Barry traveled back in time to stop Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. Reverse-Flash, from killing his younger self which resulted in The Flash "missing" in his timeline.
Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg has explained during the SDCC 2015 panel that Barry Allen will become a more heroic figure during "The Flash" season 2 as the everyone is now aware of metahumans and the dangers they present to society which will test Barry's resolve course of the show.
Aside from the new costume, "The Flash" star Grant Gustin also revealed that Barry Allen will learn new powers within the show, all thanks to a new mentor which could possibly be "The Flash" Jay Garrick from another earth played by "Masters of Sex" actor Teddy Sears, International Business Times reports.
Geeks Of Doom further adds that new characters will also be introduced in the season 2 in the form of Albert Rothstein, a.k.a. Atom Smasher, and Lewis Snart, Captain Cold and Golden Glider's father. Atom Smasher will be played by WWE Hall of Famer and retired pro wrestler Adam "Edge" Copeland, while "Total Recall" star Michael Ironside will take the role of Lewis Snart, Den of Geek reports.
The Christian Today reports that CW Network revealed a brief description of Atom Smasher's character as one of the most powerful metahumans that Barry will encounter in season 2, hinting that he will be a villain first in the show rather than a hero in the comics.
It was reported before that several new villains will be joining the show such as Mirror Master and Doctor Alchemy, not to mention new speedster by the name of Zoom, which is said to be faster than Barry and Reverse-Flash that makes him more dangerous.
There are also rumors of Tom Welling's Superman making an appearance within the show, the re-introduction of Caithlyn Snow (Danielle Panabarker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) as Killer Frost and Vibe, and the possible return of Eobard Thawne in the show.
"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 6, 2015 on the CW Network.
