Veteran big man Carlos Boozer is one of the few remaining notable free agents in the market this offseason and is reportedly the target of a handful of teams including the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, and Toronto Raptors, according to NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk.

At 33 years old, the former Duke Blue Devil is noticeably not the way he used to be, but still managed to average 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds in almost 24 minutes per game last season with the struggling Los Angeles Lakers.

For some teams, he can still be a valuable role player that could help a lot in rebounding, stretching the floor, and could add clutch baskets during end game moments. His main liability would be on the defensive end, though.

Of the teams reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the two-time NBA All-Star, the New York Knicks and the Spurs stand out from the rest, as reported by the Inquisitr.

After the Knicks drafted lanky Latvian Kristaps Porzingis fourth overall last June, they need an established veteran to help guide the 19-year-old both on and off the court. Boozer is said to be under Phil Jackson's radar to play that role aside from the Cavs' Kendrick Perkins, as per Sports World Report.

Starting frontcourt players Robin Lopez and Derrick Williams are not experienced enough to guide Porzingis while main man Carmelo Anthony has a different playing style. Boozer, with his post up moves, outside shooting, and overall class act attitude in the locker room, should be perfect for the rookie.

Aside from being a role model, Boozer is still effective enough to spell either Lopez or Williams. He would be an upgrade from current Knicks' bench warmers Lou Amundson and Kyle O'Quinn.

Meanwhile, Gregg Popovich needs depth in the middle with atypical centers Matt Bonner and Boris Diaw as backups to living legend Tim Duncan.

While Boozer may be undersized at the position, his veteran savvy could help him get the job done. He is also a good fit with recently acquired power forward LaMarcus Aldridge up front as he could concentrate on banging the boards while the latter shoots his jump shots.

There are still no confirmations of any offers given to Boozer at this moment, but it can be expected anytime soon.
