Kim Joo Na has hit the headlines not for her singing debut but for being the half-sister of popular Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun.

Joo Na's original soundtrack, or OST, featured in the recent episode of Korean drama "High Society." Soon after the release of OST, it was revealed that Joo Na is Soo Hyun's sister. According to Korea Boo, people associated with "High Society" told TV Report that the popular actor never mentioned their relationship because of "complicated family situations." They confirmed that Soo Hyun and Joo Na are brother and sister, and the two, who are close to each other, spent their growing-up years together

Soo Hyun, however, has denied that they lived together. The actor's management agency, KeyEast, has released a statement, saying that the Soo Hyun and Joo Na never lived together, though confirming that Joo Na is the actor's half-sister. Korea Boo quoted the statement as saying, "It is true that Kim Joo Na is Kim Soo Hyun's half-sister. But we know that they never lived together."  

Meanwhile, netizens have come out with spears online. They are angry that Korean media disclosed the family's complicated situation while Soo Hyun has maintained that he is the only child. Also they are accusing Joo Na of using her half-brother's name to become famous.

"I know that she is Kim Soo Hyun's half-sister but really, these reports are disgusting . . . Kim Soo Hyun told everyone since debut that he was an only child," Korea Boo quoted one of the netizens as saying. "He also spoke while receiving an award that he only had a dog who is his only sibling."

The netizen said that the reports now say that Soo Hyun never intended to hide about his half-sister but kept quiet because of his complicated family situations and that the two grew up together. "His sister's reports . . . are . . . disgusting. If she really thought of Kim Soo Hyun as family, doesn't she have to wait until Kim Soo Hyun says it himself?" the netizen added.

A netizen asked whether Joo Na will sell more if she reveals how she is related to Soo Hyun, while another netizen felt bad for celebrities whenever revelations like this one surface.
