Many gamers have expected that "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" would have a larger file size with the likes of "Grand Theft Auto 5" and "Batman: Arkham Knight," which are about 41.8GB to 46.1 GB of hard drive space. The game is even smaller compared to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" video game which is at 50 GB.
GaminngBolt noted that the first "MGS5" game "Ground Zero" had a relativley small file size of only 3.82 GB due it being a prequel game.
Gamerant reported that Konami did not made any specific reasons for small download size in the PS4 and PS3 consoles; however, GameStop speculated that the reason for "Metal Gear Solid 5" having a small download size is due to its in-game cut scenes being real-time or perhaps due to the lack of audio files present in the game.
Aside from the game's file size, Polygon reported that "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima released a new poster for "Metal Gear Solid 5."
The poster features both Snake/Big Boss and Quiet covered in blood emphasizing the games rate M nature. Gamespot further translated the Japanese message of the poster which reads "Stained In blood, the aftermath of revenge." The poster is only be displayed in limited stores starting August.
Gameradar also reported that "Metal Gear Solid 5" will have its own collector's edition bundle pack. The collectors edition comes with a 500GB PS4 console with red, black and gold color scheme, a metalic gray controller, a day one edition of "MGS5," an in-game extra costume for Snake, an Adam-ska revolver, silver ballistic shield and a cardboard box.
It also has Snake's Bionic Arm replica and its available for pre-order at £99.99 ($155 USD). If gamers want the console, the bionic arm and the limited headset, they will have to purchase it at £499.99 ($776 USD).
