The new HTC J Butterfly is rated at IP5X, IPX5 and IPX7 that confirms the smartphone as both water proof and dust proof.
It will be run by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with Adreno 330 GPU and have 2 GB RAM. The device will come with a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution Full HD Super LCD 3 display.
It boasts of a dual camera and a 13 MP rear camera with depth sensor similar to the one on the HTC One M8, only without the ultra-pixel feature. There will be a 5-inch MP front camera with CMOS sensor.
The phone will come with a 2,700 mAh battery that can power the device for about 1,010 minutes of usage and nearly 490 hours on standby.
It appears that the HTC J Butterfly is another One M8 version packed with fewer features. J Butterfly is to be available in Japan by the end of August and might be exclusive to the country, as well.
J Butterfly will be released in Canvas White, Indigo Blue and Rouge Red color variants.
It comes with a thick 10 mm body, weighing 156 grams. There will be dual stereo speakers at the front with built-in amplifiers.
KDDI hasn't announced how much the device will cost but all the details of the phone will officially be revealed and launched at the HTC Conference in Tokyo on Aug. 19.
