The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly still interested in the services of free agent big man Kevin Séraphin to add much-needed depth to their thin frontline, as per Lakers Nation.

After trading for Roy Hibbert and signing Brandon Bass in free agency, the Lakers only have Robert Sacre, Tarik Black, Ryan Kelly, and last year's seventh overall pick Julius Randle in their frontcourt lineup.
Randle, arguably the team's best big, is virtually a rookie as he missed 81 of 82 games last season with a fractured right tibia just in his first game as a professional. With such an under-talented frontline, it is no wonder that Mitch Kupchak is still looking for a center and head coach Byron Scott was reportedly thinking of playing Kobe Bryant at the four position in the upcoming season.
After all the summer acquisitions, Kupchak still has a $2.8 million exception left at his disposal that he could use to sign Séraphin and somehow help Scott work out a more manageable rotation up front.
The Frenchman played for the Washington Wizards in his entire four-year career. Last season, he averaged 4.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in only 11 minutes per game. These numbers may significantly rise following a potential increase in playing time with the Lakers.
However, Bleacher Report indicated that Séraphin desires to join a team where he will have the opportunity to become a starter.
Such a wish is not possible in Scott's present rotation especially with the planned building up for their star youngster Randle. Although the Lakers are said to be intending to make Séraphin the first big off the bench, it remains to be seen if that would be enough to lure the 6-foot-10 center-forward to Hollywood.
Aside from the Lakers, other teams interested in Séraphin are his incumbent team, the Wizards, and the Dallas Mavericks, according to the Inquisitr.
Then again, the Mavs may be passing the French Guiana native as they have recently signed veteran center Samuel Dalembert to a one-year contract and are currently negotiating with two other big men, JaVale McGee and Turkey's Salah Mejri.
At only 25 years old and without any serious injury history, the 17th overall pick in the 2010 draft is fresh enough to become a valuable asset for the rebuilding Lakers if they can snatch him from the market.
