The search is finally over. Kim Go Eun has been cast as Hong Seol in the much-anticipated television adaptation of popular webtoon "Cheese in the Trap." Park Hae Jin has already been confirmed to play the male protagonist, Yoo Jung.

Go Eun, 24, who made her movie debut in 2012, is making her television debut with "Cheese in the Trap." She earlier had turned down the offer to play Hong Seol because of scheduling issues, but it looks like the issues were resolved, and PD Lee Yoon Jung convinced her to take up the role.

"Kim Go Eun thought she shouldn't pass up on a character as charming as Hong Seol. She will show good acting in return," Soompi quoted her agency's rep. as saying. "There was a definite love call from the director. [Kim Go Eun] was able to accept the offer thanks to their willingness to further adjust filming schedules."

Yoo Jung said that Go Eun has proven herself as an actress of "unmatched acting talent" when it comes to the group of twenty-something actresses, Dramabeans reported.  

The young actress has the ability to make any role her own, the PD said, adding that she was his first choice from the beginning, and he sent her the "first lovecall."  

Prior to this confirmed casting, there were reports that several actresses were being considered for the role of female protagonist on "Cheese in the Trap." miss A's Suzy was one of the strong contenders to bag the role, but she declined the offer because of her hectic music schedule. Her potential casting news attracted a deluge of negative comments. Most of the netizens felt that Suzy is not fit for the role, as it demands an actress who is capable of showing a range of emotions. There are speculations that she dropped the project because of the negative reaction.

Go Eun is considered a powerful performer who is expected to do justice to Hong Seol's role. A majority of netizens are happy to hear about her casting.

Now that the casting of the two main leads has been done, the search is now on to find the actor who will play the second male lead, Baek In Ho.  

"Cheese in the Trap" is set to air sometime in October on tvN.
