'Destiny: The Taken King' Update: Bungie Explains New Boss Fight, Dreadnaught Location; PS4 Pre-Order Details Out Today!

Gamerant reported that Bungie will introduce a new boss character within "Destiny: The Taken Kings" Strike Missions as the publisher teased that this one is related to the "Taken King's" forces within the game.

The new boss character is called the Darkblade and its is described as a hulking knight, weilding a giant axe as tall as him. Its color scheme is mostly black and grey in its armor, while having a hue of blue and red. Bungie explained that The Darkblade will serve as a frontline leader in the Taken Army, and players will have a challenging time fighting him during the expansion.

The website was able to post photos of the Darkblade's official appearance and its weapon online.


 Aside from the new boss character, VG 24/7 reported that Bungie aslo revealed a new game location in "Destiny: The Taken King" called the "Dreadnaught."


The Dreadnaught is the Taken King's flagship spacecraft for his army and it is also a Hive tombship based on its interior architecture with a touch of the Taken's dark influence.

Gamespot was able to post several photos of the Dreadnaught and based on it, the whole battleship is massive and senior artist Andrew Hopps compared it to "a whole new world" as players will have countless hours exploring one part of the ship.

Gamespot further adds that players will engage massive enemy units that will likely swarm each area within the Dreadnaught, not to mention boss characters such as the Darkblade and the Taken King waiting for them.

Players will also engage in several minor missions as well as major public events featured in the Dreadnaught and Bungie, which stated that Patrol missions will not be easy unlike the previous expansions, The Inquistr reported.

Luke Smith, creative director fot "The Taken King" expansion, explained that the ship will be a inscrutable loot-filled fortress, and new features such as the skybox from inside rings of Saturn are present within the Dreadnaught.

In other news, Bungie has announced that pre-order details for "Destiny: The Taken King" limited edition PS4 pack has been posted on the PlayStation Blog website.

The limited edition PS4 version of "The Taken King" expansion will cost around $399.99, as the bundle will feature a 500GB PS4 console, a physical copy of the game, and contents from the Legendary and Digital Collector's editions.

it will also contain contents from past expansion packs such as Jade Rabbit exotic scout rifle, the Echo Chamber strike, a PvP map called the Sector 618 and the legendary gear sets - Hesperos, Azoth Bend and Neuroghast.

"Destiny: The Taken King" expansion will be release on Sept. 15, 2015 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
