Instead of making a huge promotion for their latest movie "The Third Way of Love," trending couple Song Seung-heon and Liu Yifei participated in a prayer event for the victims of the Tianjin port blast. Reportedly their first live appearance since admitting their relationship, plans for the publicity was changed and dedicated instead to expressing support for hundreds affected by the accident.

The couple, along with other cast and crew, appeared in black before the crowd. Liu addressed the participants and apologized for the cancellation of the presentation. Meanwhile, Song offered his condolences in Korean.

"We all feel very sorry about the incident yesterday. Please cheer up and help them," Toggle quoted Liu.

The explosion happened in a warehouse in Tianjing, China and resulted in the death of 17 and the injury of hundreds more. The blast was said to have been heard even from miles away and caused irreparable damage to buildings and hundreds of cars. As of Thursday, BBC reported that hospitals are inundated with casualties.

Prior getting wind of the fatal incident, the pair has attended an interview with talk show "Day Day Up" and made fans swoon with their public expression of affection. During their first TV appearance as a couple, Song openly talked about his love for Liu and how he has been a fan for four years already. The 38-year-old Hallyu star, seemingly embarrassed by his bold declaration, then handed a bouquet of red roses for his lady love.

In Korean, Song told Liu, "I am not a greedy person, but after seeing you, I really want you." When the recording wrapped up, Song followed up on his live announcement with a Weibo post of his picture with Liu and a caption that read, "So happy that we attended a variety show together for the first time."

On Tuesday, Song revealed that he is toying with the idea of having a "flash marriage." Seeing that fellow Hallyu pioneers Won Bin and Bae Yong-joon have already tied the knot with their respective wives, Song is keen to tread on the same path. Netizens took this as a cue to wish him and Liu a happy life together.
