UFC superstar Anderson Silva was suspended for one year retroactive to Jan. 31, and fined $380,000 for failing drug tests prior to and after his bout against Nick Diaz.
Silva admission that he took a substance for sexual enhancement from a friend from Thailand may have aggravated his case, according to Yahoo Sports.

Silva, who described the substance as a clear liquid in a blue vial, also referred to it during the hearing as either "Viagra" or "Cialis" or both of which are used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Paul Scott, an expert in anti-doping hired by Silva's attorney, Michael Alonso, tested seven substances that Silva said he took prior to the fight.
One of those was the liquid in the blue vial, which Scott said tested positive for drostanolone.
However, Scott failed to providde documentation aboout the tests.
Had Silva not had the supplements tested and denied knowing how they got into his body, as boxer John Molina Jr. did earlier, he likely would have gotten off easier.
Silva also admitted using Oxazepam and Temazepam, which are both are benzodiazepines.
Oxazepam is for treatment of anxiety and acute alcohol withdrawal, while Temazepam is a sedative-hypnotic used to treat insomnia.
Silva claimed that he was prescribed those by a physician in Brazil to treat his sciatic nerve injury and spent a night in the hospital.
He tested positive in a Jan. 9 pre-fight screening, the results of which did not become available until after his bout with Diaz, as well as on the night of the fight. On the night of the fight, he gave samples both prior to and after his bout.
The UFC legend admitted committing a mistake, said Fox Sports.
Silva said on a pre-fight questionnaire that he was not taking any supplements.
But at the hearing, Silva took a 180 degree turn by admitting to taking seven.
The UFC legend added that he was embarrassed to disclose the use of the sexual enhancer in the blue vial.
The commissioners apparently felt he lied, since he also testified he had stopped ingesting it on Jan. 8.
However, commission expert Dr. Daniel Eichner, said drostanolone would be out of the system after a week.
That fact showed that Silva didn't stopped taking it on Jan. 8 since it appeared in his system on Jan. 31.
There were several other inconsistencies in his stories and commissioners noted several times they didn't feel Silva was giving them the entire truth.
It was also remarkable that a fighter of Silva's stature and experience would admit taking a substance in an unlabeled bottle.
