There is one thing Washington Redskin Quarterback Robert Griffin III certainly doesn't lack in, and that's confidence.

In a recent interview with WJLA-TV, Griffin held onto his personal belief that he is the best quarterback in the league, stating that "I don't feel like I have to come out here and show anybody anything or why I'm better than this guy or better than that guy. It's more about going out and affirming that for me, I go out and I play, I know I'm the best quarterback on this team. I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league and I have to go out and show that, "

His rationale for such a claim was that "Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they're not a top competitor, they're not trying to be the best that they can be. There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But, I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day." .

There is certainly a lot of competition within the NFL who would disagree with Griffin III in his assessment. Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Tony Romo and plenty of other quarterbacks in the league would all argue otherwise.

Robert Griffin III has been the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins for the past 2 seasons, trying to recapture the dream rookie season he had. He had a string of injuries since 2013, such as multiple torn ligaments and a dislocated left ankle that brought about questions on Griffin's abilities and whether or not he is an elite player.

Griffin has used the criticism that has been thrown at him as motivation to be a better football player.

"it's a blessing to be at this level, to be able to go out here with 90 guys and truly enjoy, truly enjoy this process. So that's where I look at it now. I didn't expect the other stuff, but I think God's helped me grow through everything that I've had to go through here in Washington and it'll make me better for the future."

Griffin's Redskins had an abysmal 4-12 season in 2014 and hopes that they can bounce back this season.
