The super fight is widely awaited by many fans and Weidman wants to give what the people are clamoring for.

However, Jones is currently suspended by the UFC for his allegedly hit-and-run on a pregnant woman.

Jones returned to the crash site to retrieve money stashed in his car before fleeing again.

Except for a technicality DQ against Matt Hamill, Jones' record is essentially untainted in 22 fights.

However, Jones' meteoric rise was halted abruptly by his involvement in the alleged felony.

Weidman said he has nothing against Jones in calling him out but just wanted to fight the best as a competitor.

He sees Jones as among the biggest challenges and that he wanted to conquer him.

Weidman said his desire to face Jones in the ring is just the same as how he felt fighting Anderson Silva--he wanted the fight since nobody else wanted to.

Silva was previously considered the greatest fighter in the history of the sport before the emergence of Jones.

Weidman has so far made three title defenses--against Silva in a rematch, Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort--- and will be up against explosive Luke Rockhold at UFC 194 on Dec. 12.

Weidman said he will just run through Rockhold and cannot imagine himslef losing to him, MMA Frenzy reported.

But then there are the likes of Yoel Romero and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza looming in the horizon.

Surely, fans are hoping that Jones comes back soon enough before somebody spoils the party.
