Reigning WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) and current IBF welterweight titlist Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) is reportedly setting up a unification fight this October in Sheffield, England.

The Daily Express indicated that Top Rank boss Bob Arum and Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn had already started negotiations for the possible fall bout and the Briton is said to be keen on fighting the American as he thinks it would greatly improve his popularity in the United States.

However, it is still unconfirmed if the 31-year-old Bradley would be willing to fight outside of mainland US as the Desert Storm is already a major crowd draw in America.

Hearn disclosed that Brook had already agreed to defend his belt against Argentinian Diego Chaves on October 24 in Sheffield, but they are willing to cancel that fight in order to give way to Bradley.

Bradley's one and only fight outside of North America and in the British Isles was in 2008 when he claimed the WBC light welterweight title from hometown hero Junior Witter at the Nottingham Arena.

The California native was supposed to fight Brandon Rios this December but due to financial and promotional issues the negotiations became fruitless, as per Boxing Scene. Bradley was also ordered by the WBO officials to defend his title against American Sadam Ali before the year ends or else he will lose his belt.

Bradley and his camp were reportedly reluctant to face Ali, citing fight profitability as its main hindrance, and so Arum is still looking for a suitable opponent at this time.

As of the moment, that profitable opponent appears to be the undefeated Brook. Although the Briton is already a star in his home country, his popularity among fight fans in the States is still questionable.

This is allegedly what keeps him from setting up potential big money fights against the great American welterweights such as Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and of course, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing News 24 noted that Brook wanted the Bradley match not only because it would make him more popular globally but that he allegedly finds him to be an easier opponent as compared to Chaves.

Last year, Bradley fought Chaves to a 12-round draw at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas as the former could not handle the pressure created by the Argentinian especially in the second half of their fight.
