Nina Dobrev is eager to get back at ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed for breaking her heart. “The Vampire Diaries” alum reportedly wished to star in an even bigger series than the CW vampire drama.

At the recent Teen Choice Awards, Dobrev thanked the fans for continuously supporting her even after leaving "The Vampire Diaries." According to the International Business Times, the actress could not help but feel emotional when she talked about the big changes about to happen in her life.

"As this chapter of my life comes to an end, I look back at it with a grateful heart and I smile," she shared.

"Because just like my character Elena, I started the show as a young girl and together, we grew up. We've grown up and over the last six years, we've become women."

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Dobrev, however, may actually be regretting her decision to leave "TVD." The publication pointed out that it has been months since she left the series and yet she has not received any offers to star in a movie or even a guest role in a series.

The 26-year-old actress reportedly thought that the projects would immediately come knocking on her door. That, however, was not the case.

When the CW executives heard the news, they allegedly offered Dobrev to return to "The Vampire Diaries" and reprise her role as Elena. Dobrev reportedly thought it over but decided against coming back because of Somerhalder.

The publication claimed that Dobrev would rather be unemployed than work with her ex-boyfriend. In spite of the recent challenges coming her way, the actress was still optimistic that the perfect role will come her way.

In a previous interview with E! News, Dobrev explained that her decision to leave the series had nothing to do with her rift with Somerhalder's wife. She added that when she heard about their wedding, she felt nothing but happiness for the couple.
