EXO Chinese idol Lay has been roped in to star in an upcoming Chinese drama titled "To Be A Better Man." This will be his first television drama.
Recently, a promotional poster featuring the 23-year-old singer was released, and according to Korea Boo, it confirmed his casting. He is seen posing holding a knife and another sharp weapon. The image that he is presenting is that of a tough man, which is complete opposite to his idol image.

He is donning black, wearing a black leather jacket over his white shirt. The poster suggests that the story of the drama is likely to be dark.
For Lay, this will be his second acting project. Earlier this year, he signed on his first movie "Oh my God," a romantic comedy sci-fi. Produced by Zhang Ziyi, the movie also stars Cheney Chen and Jacqueline Li. Lay has a leading role in "Oh my God."
Lay has been taking up solo projects in his home country, China. He, however, has said several times in the past that he does not intend to quit the popular Chinese-Korean idol group. Probably to stop his departure from the group, SM Entertainment, the management agency of EXO, established a studio for him in Beijing, China, to provide support for his Chinese activities.
"We've set up a workshop in China on March 2015. EXO-M's Lay will be using the workshop in condition of an exclusive contract with SM. During his contract time, Lay will be fully supported while proceeding with his schedule in China," SM Entertainment said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Lay earlier hit the headlines as the youngest cast member of popular Chinese variety program "Go Fighting!" Because of his emotional moments on the show, he became the most talked about cast member on Chinese social media.
Lay is now the only active Chinese member of EXO group that originally started with four Chinese members. He continues to perform as EXO member in South Korea and China. Earlier this month, he was in China as EXO for EXO'luXION concert. And, when someone from the audience hit his EXO-mate Chanyeol with a water bottle during a concert in Chengdu, Lay told Chinese fans to not throw water bottles on the stage as the idols may get hurt because of that.
