Hugh Jackman performed one of his greatest superheroics by making a kids' dream come true. In a rare special appearance, the actor appeared right in front of the young Wolverine fan at a radio station where the child was.

Jackman, who is a real gentleman and an overall nice guy, is the exact opposite of his X-Men alter ego who has a very rough and tough personality. The Aussie has been playing the role of Wolverine for the past 15 years, endearing himself to fans all over the world.

Working with the Make-A-Wish foundation, the actor collaborated with Australian radio channel KIIS 1065 to pull off the surprise for nine-year old Wolverine-fan Domenic who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a newborn.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "cystic fibrosis is an inherited disorder that causes severe damage to the lungs and digestive system."

Domenic thought that he was talking to Jackman while the actor was on set filming a movie. Little did he know that Wolverine was just a few doors away from him and ready to surprise him by appearing live at the radio station.

Needless to say, it's a moment in Domenic's life that he will not soon forget.

The actor's wife Deborah Lee-Furness didn't want him to take on the role initially. She thought it was a terrible idea. Jackman said that it was the first time that she was wrong in 20 years. 

He has an upcoming one-man stage show "Broadway to Oz" which will kick off in Melbourne on November 24 and 25 and then Sydney on November 30 and December 1. It will continue in Brisbane on Dec. 5 and 6, Adelaide on Dec. 10, and will close in Perth on Dec. 15.

Jackman will return as Wolverine for the last time in his third solo outing in the still untitled film set for release on March 3, 2017.
