It seems that a new venture awaits Celebrity chef, Jaswant Mehra. The Celebrity chef is currently turning to York for his first restaurant venture.

Jaswant Mehra has appeared in television appearances in India and has chosen York as the site for his first restaurant venture. According to a post by The Press, "Jaswant Mehra has opened '29 States, such as the The Indian Kitchen' which is opposite Clifford's Tower in Tower Street." It used to be a Chinese restaurant and it looks like Mehra has seen the strategic potential of the place.

For the non-followers and non enthusiasts, Mr. Mehra is well known in his native India. Food Service Equipment earlier posted that Mehra has appeared in more than 300 episodes of a popular television cookery show. His cooking career made him who he is today. Food Service Equipment also added that the 29 states  which is a Indian Kitchen describes itself as a contemporary restaurant offering a distinctive dining experience to satisfy all aspects of Indian cuisine.

The first restaurant venture will aid in the growth of Jaswant Mehra's career. The main goal of the restaurant franchise is to offer exemplary cuisines. The Press further stated that the company hope to provide their customers with a different Indian restaurant experience which is not all about curries. It also aims on  offering careers to young people looking to go into the hospitality sector. It seems that Jaswant Mehra wants to share his cooking skills to the world as well as his legacy. The Press also reported that the '29' States' of India all have different flavours and cuisines which the 70-cover restaurant plans to add to its menu over time.

The management are also investing in the refurbishment of the two-storey property which features a beer garden and this will also enhance customer satisfaction. With the new venture of Jaswant Mehra, the customers can enjoy the best that India cuisine can bring.
