PHOTOS AND VIDEO: Star Wars R2-D2 Boeing Plane Debuts at All Nippon Airways

Japanese airliner ANA will launch the world's first commercial Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 service on August 7 for domestic flights.
Star Wars fans now have a plane of their own! Boeing and All Nippon Airways have just launched its Star Wars jet, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with an R2-D2 design.
In attendance is none other than the legendary droid R2-D2 and C-3PO. The rollout ceremony was held at the Boeing facility in Everett, Washington.

The R2-D2 ANA Jet will take flight on October 18 from Haneda Airport to Vancouver, Canada. From mid-October to November its principal destination will be Narita to San Jose. Around early December it will travel from Narita to Seattle. From mid-December onwards the destinations will be from Haneda to Sydney, Jakarta, Beijing, Munich, Paris, and more!
The launch was complete with Star Wars music in the background and Storm Troopers guarding the hangar doors.
This is the first of the three Star Wars-themed planes to be launched Boeing and All Nippon Airways. The next one will be a BB-8 ANA Jet which will be primarily for North America routes. The last one will be a Star Wars ANA Jet which will be a collaboration of R2-D2 and BB-8 designs. It will start flying on November throughout Japan.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" in 1983. The movie is directed by J.J. Abrams. It's also written by Abrams along with Lawrence Kasdan and Lucas.
The rollout of the plane is just in time for the hype building up to the showing of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Dec. 18.
