It looks like "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder has some explaining to do to his wife, Nikki Reed, when his Twitter account was hacked by one user called "Cloudnine" on Sep. 15, Tuesday night.

According to Daily Mail, the mystery hacker somehow took control of his account. He or she was able to "fire off 15 tweets" before he or she was shut down by the Twitter police.

The hacker posted a number of strange tweets, and one of it was professing Somerhalder's love for his ex-girlfriend and "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev. It was obviously tweeted to his six million followers.

Among the tweets was also a recommendation for the USA Network's Mr. Robot, a new series, which is about a young hacktivist. Another tweet was "who even is ian somerhalder" and another was "can someone get me in contact with ian please."

Later on, when the hacker seemed to sense that he or she is going to be shut down soon, two tweets were posted that said, "before I get locked out I just wanna say this has been a great experience" and "I am so sorry." However, that was before the sensational fake tweet "I Love you @ninadobrev," which was an awkward reminder of his past relationship with the actress. (One can just imagine what that tweet can mean to two persons who already split up, plus to two other persons who are now their partners.)

It can be recalled that Somerhalder and Dobrev were dating for three years, mid 2010 to May 2013. But because of their age gap, the two split up. Later on, Dobrev was rumored to leave "The Vampire Diaries" when he and her friend, Reed, got together.

According to Ace Showbiz, the hacker surely did not know Somerhalder very well since the 36-year old hunk who is also known by his popular role as "Damon Salvatore" already happily married "Twilight" vampire "Rosalie Hale" in April, while Dobrev is dating "Dolphin Tale" actor Austin Stowell.
