It has been found out that not everything that people know about the solar system that has been learned at school is correct.

According to BABW News, the solar system is actually more massive. A very recent video from two filmmakers has revealed the true size of the solar system.

It was recently reported that Alex Gorosh and Wylie Overstreet, a producer and a camera duo, took to Black Rock Desert in a huge Nevada lakebed to take on the daunting task of creating a solar system model that would actually represent the relative sizes and distances of the planets as they follow their own orbital paths around the Sun.

The team explains that every Google search of the solar system turns up some misleading images about the size and orientation of the solar system's planets. To cite an example on showing how vast the space between the planets actually is, the representation for the planet Earth in the model was a tiny marble, and the crew had to drive seven miles through the desert to reach the next planet.

The solar system contains eight planets and multiple asteroid belts, dwarf planets, and other bodies that orbit around the Sun. The vast majority of the solar system's mass is contained in the Sun with a level of nearly about 99.9 percent. The rest of the mass, which is made up by the planets and other bodies, only accounts for about 0.14 percent of the total mass.

Due to the massive size of the Sun, it creates a depression in space and time that causes it to "sink" into its place in the galaxy. The resulting shape made then from the Sun creates a strong gravitational pull that keeps the planets and asteroids circling around, like marbles rolling to the bottom of a conical container around the rim.

Some other things that have been revealed, according to EarthSky, are that, first, the hottest planet is Venus, which is actually not the one closest to the Sun because the planet is more shrouded by thick atmosphere that prevents the Sun's energy from escaping back into space and hence raise the temperature of the planet; second, Pluto is smaller than the United States with only about 2,900 miles or from Northern California state to Maine state; third, the edge of the solar system is about a thousand times farther away than Pluto; fourth, almost everything on the planet Earth is a rare element because elements detected throughout the universe are trace elements; fifth, there are Martian rocks on Earth found in the Sahara Desert, Antarctica, and others that reveal that they originated on the Red Planet; sixth, Jupiter has the biggest ocean of any planet in the solar system; and seventh, Earth lives inside the Sun because the former's outer atmosphere extends far beyond its visible surface and Earth orbits within this tenuous atmosphere.
