Recent articles online have suggested that New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher should "shake up" his team's "old" starting lineup in favor of younger players, particularly in the backcourt. But the former Laker and triangle offense facilitator is not about to listen to any suggestions.

"Considering shaking anything up is never based on how one guy is shooting the ball," the 41-year-old, five-time NBA champions said, referring to recent calls about benching the duo of Jose Calderon and Sasha Vujacic in favor of rookie Jerian Grant and sophomore Langston Galloway, as per the New York Post.

"Shaking things up for us is a decision made based on what's going on with the group," Fisher continued. "If a decision needs to be made, we'll make it on the team, not one guy."

The second-year coach actually makes a lot of sense as he is evidently going for the right balance of youth and experience. If he inserts both Grant and Galloway in the starting lineup together with another rookie, Kristaps Porzingis, then veterans Carmelo Anthony and Robin Lopez would have a hard time keeping up with inexperienced teammates to kick off a game.

Besides, the young fellas are still given more than enough playing time to steadily improve and adjust their games in the pro league before becoming full-fledged starters.

Also, the absence of shooting Aaron Afflalo has hurt Fisher's rotation. When Afflalo returns, his combination with Calderon will be more potent both offensively and defensively than that with Vujacic manning the two guard spot.

Fisher has a different perspective on what is happening that he thinks the team has a great bench and he does not want to kill its rhythm at this time.

"I think our bench is playing really well right now," said Fisher, as reported by Sports World Report. "So if you take some of those guys off of that unit, that maybe changes the effectiveness of how good your bench can be."

Meanwhile, Calderon is reportedly open to whatever his coach wants his role to be. He recently said that "it doesn't matter" to him if he is "starting or coming off the bench" as his focus is the benefit of the team and "to help this team" win.
