Indonesia's anti-drug task force has devised a new way to combat bribery and increase prison security by building a top-security prison in an island guarded by crocodiles, according to an interview with an official on Monday, as reported by Telegraph UK.
The proposal was originally authored by Budi Waseso, an anti-drugs chief.

Waseso plans to map out potential areas of the archipelago to scout for suitable crocodiles that can fit the bill of working as 'prison guards'.
"We will place as many crocodiles as we can there. I will search for the most ferocious type of crocodile," said Waseso, in a recent interview with Tempo, a local news website.
The anti-drugs chief pointed out that these reptiles are better in preventing convicted drug traffickers from escaping jail since they cannot be bribed.
This setup is quite similar from the James Bond film, "Live and Let Die", when the MI6 agent, played by Sir Roger Moore, escapes from an island using the ferocious reptiles as stepping stones.
The officials are keen on the fact that the convicts don't have that kind of 'secret agent' skill.
The plan is currently in its early stage of development. The specific location and when the prison will be fully functional are still in the works.
Indonesia is well renowned for having one of the strictest anti-narcotic laws in the world. Any person convicted of drug trafficking is punishable by death through firing squad.
The country faced uproar worldwide for executing seven foreign convicts in April.
Joko Widodo, the President of Indonesia, stated that drug dealers are not to be spared and must face death penalty as a punishment due to their negative contribution to the rising usage of narcotics in the country.
Indonesia's prison system is marred with bribery despite stringent laws against drug trafficking. Jail officials and prison inmates are arrested often for their involvement in drugs.
The authorities are considering the proposal to build this special facility for death row convicts, according to Slamet Pribadi, an anti-drugs agency spokesman.
Pribadi added that only traffickers will be put into the facility to segregate them from other inmates, to prevent increased recruitment into drug gangs.
