'Suicide Squad' presentation during Comic-Con International 2015 at the San Diego Convention Center on July 11, 2015 in San Diego, California. 'Sucide Squad' movie has received a low movie rating - just what DC Comic executives were aiming for.
Ever since it was officially revealed earlier this year, DC Comic's anti-hero film "Sucide Squad" has be arguably one of the most anticipated films for next year.
The film recently got an official movie rating of PG-13, according to Game Spot. When asked about the PG-13 rating, the film's producer Charles Roven stated that the film was always set to have a lower rating.

Roven said in an interview with Collider that it was always the intention of the studio to go with PG-13 and not R. Roven further notes that "Sucide Squad" is meant to be in a bigger movie universe, DC comics and the studio agreed that that they want all the movies to be tonally consistent.
Roven revealed that the film's director David Ayer was a big part of keeping "Sucide Squad" on the edge of the PG-13 rating. According to Roven, Ayer's talent for being both a director and a screen writer was key during the film's shooting.
Ayer's skills allowed him to tell the cast exactly what he needed them to do to keep the film rating low while still preserving the tone and message of the project.
The most difficult thing to keep under control, according to Roven, was Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker. Even from early trailers for the film, it seemed that this version of the Clown Prince of Crime is going to be edgier and darker than any other previous rendition of the character.
However, Roven assured fans that this is due to Leto's acting method and that while his version of the character is a bit more intense than any before him, the actor still is able to maintain a certain level of self control.
The producer also confirmed that no new trailers for the "Suicide Squad" will be released until next year.
"Suicide Squad" is set to be released on Aug. 5, 2016.
