The recent attacks on Paris, which resulted to carnage and casualties, were an 'act of war' orchestrated by the Islamic State from outside the country aided with internal connections, according to French President Francois Hollande last Saturday, Haaretz reports.

Bombers and armed men terrorized the people in restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium in Paris last Friday that took the lives of 127 people and critically injuring 200 more people.

ISIS claimed responsibility of the attack, as released through an official statement.

"Faced with war, the country must take appropriate action," said Hollande.

Hollande added that he would address the Parliament on Monday through a special meeting.

A three-day holiday will also be observed for mourning the victims of the fatal carnage last Friday.

Following the attacks that occurred in Paris, the residents were advised to stay inside their homes. Most establishments were closed for the weekends and upcoming events such as the U2 concert and the movie premiere of Steven Spielberg's were cancelled.

Hollande, who was whisked away from the sports stadium for safety, immediately declared 'a nationwide state of emergency' and wanted to close the land borders of France to stop the suspects from escape.

This declaration of 'a nationwide state of emergency' was the first implementation since World War II. Emergency services were summoned, along with the police force.

France has been wary of security since the attacks of Charlie Hebdo newspaper and a Kosher supermarket last January that killed 18 people.

The attack temporarily united the country in terms of freedom of speech and this was shown through a demonstration of more than 1 million people of France.

However, this solidarity would slowly disband due to the far-right populist Marine Le Pen, who gained influence through parties, emphasizing the blame on increasing immigration and Islam as threat to France's security.

The political impact from the latest attack is still yet to be seen, as this occurred barely less than a month before Marine Le Pen will participate in the regional elections.
