China Landslide Update: Death Toll Now at 25, 12 Still Missing

The death toll from a landslide in China's eastern province of Zhejiang has been raised to 25. Initial reports had confirmed nine deaths and 28 missing.
A recent report by Yahoo News said the local government has confirmed 25 deaths while 12 others are still missing after the landslide in Lidong Village in eastern China. A survivor, who was found over the weekend, has since been transported to a hospital and is now reportedly in stable condition.

According to reports, the landslide struck the village on Friday at around 10:50 p.m. Torrents of mud and rocks buried twenty houses and claimed the lives of 25 people.
A rescue operation was organized immediately by the Zhejiang governor. 2,300 rescuers and rescue vehicles were reportedly sent to the landslide site.
According to the local bureau, the province has been experiencing heavy rains for two days. It was still raining when the landslide occurred.
