Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has vehemently refused the idea of the relocation of Syrian refugees to his state following the terrorist attacks in Paris this past Friday.
"After full consideration of this weekend's attacks of terror on innocent citizens in Paris, I will oppose any attempt to relocate Syrian refugees to Alabama through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program," Bentley said in a news release.

Bentley said the relocation of Syrian refugees to Alabama will pose a great risk to the lives of his constituents He added that there have been reports that those responsible for the Paris terror attacks were from the bulk of Syrian refugees who traveled to Europe in search of a good life.
"As your governor, I will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm's way, " he said.
White House officials privy to the plans for refugee crisis have said that the United States still intends to accommodate 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year.
US Rep. Mike McCaul of Texas, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, has admitted that there is a big "gaping hole" in screening refugees to prevent the risk of terrorists entering the country.
US Intelligence reports said one of the plotters of the Paris terror attacks and was a suicide bomber entered Europe by joining the throngs of Syrian refugees that entered the country last month.
Alabama has a refugee processing center that has been approved by the US State Department. To date, no Syrian refugees have been relocated to the state, the governor said. Neighboring states have, however, processed Syrian refugees in their territory.
Bentley said Friday's terror attacks on Paris showed the glaring truth that evil exists in the world and that this is made a reality by the terrorists who sow evil and fear and seek to destroy the very foundation and values that the freedom-loving citizens preserve and fight for.
"I will not place Alabamians at even the slightest, possible risk of an attack on our people. Please continue to join me in praying for those who have suffered loss and for those who will never allow freedom to fade at the hands of terrorists," the governor said.
A press release from the governor's office said more police officers have been deployed to guard major events in the state and these officers are joining federal officers to monitor possible threats.
