Video messaging platform Snapchat released a new update on Monday for its mobile app. The update adds more algorithm that will allow users to create and monitor their own content.

Snapchat, which is known for its self-destructing messages, said that the update is part of its integration into the "mobile storytelling platform."

The latest Snapchat feature is called Story Explorer. The new feature will allow Snapchat users to swipe down in order to get more perspectives on the same moment that are within a Live Story. The feature will mostly rely on users and new technology in order to select submissions as well as regulate and monitor inappropriate contents.

The new feature was announced on the official Snapchat blog and it reads, "Story Explorer relies on technology developed by our research team to provide more depth to every Snap in a Story. When you see a moment that inspires or excites you, simply swipe up to see more Snaps of that same moment - from every perspective."

The new feature does not pre-screen images. In order to limit the proliferation of violent or sexually explicit images, users are encouraged to report these inappropriate contents. Users can report these contents by holding down on a video or image.

Snapchat said that the new feature was made possible by its massive community that shares Snaps and contributes many diverse perspectives.

The new Story Explorer feature will be rolled out first in New York and Los Angeles Live Stories. Snapchat said that the feature will eventually find its way to other regions very soon.

According to the Irish Examiner, the new feature from Snapchat is a novel way of delivering fresh content to users and it also adds a different perspective on the same story.
