Drivers and fans formally held a tribute to honor the life of Sprint Car driver Kevin Ward Jr. at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park on Saturday.
Kevin Ward was the victim in a shocking tragedy that was accidentally killed on the racetrack by fellow race driver Tony Stewart.
Video of the incident shows Ward getting out of his vehicle after Tony Stewart forced him into a wall as they went around a turn. Ward foolishly tried confronting Stewart in the middle of the track while the race was still in progress.

A couple of the drivers were able to avoid Ward positioned on the track, but as Steward came into the turn, he was unable to swerve in time and ran Ward over dragging him several feet.
Drivers and fans got together at Canandaigua Park - the same track Ward was killed - as everyone in honor of Ward dressed in orange, which is one of the colors of his Sprint car.
Canandaigua Motorsports Park has been reportedly closed and all races have been cancelled following the incident, but according to the track owner, Ward's father told him they should continue the racing.
"I'm not sure of the track would have opened had it not been for Mr. Ward talking to Jeremie Corcoran the promoter," Mark Bristal of Rochester said. "He said it was his wishes and it would have been his sons wishes for the track to open so I think that made it easier for everyone to move forward."
The tribute included things like a basket intended for any donations to be given to the Ward family, Sprint car teams carrying orange glow sticks, as well as the infield scoreboard forming Ward's car number 13.
Following the incident, racetracks across the nation will be enforcing rules that drivers will be required to stay in their vehicles at all times while on the track.
