Fans of Virtual Reality technology will have to wait a little longer for the HTC Vive. HTC announced that the virtual reality device will finally hit the market in April 2016.
The HTC Vive was originally slated for a release before the end of 2015. This was to make sure that the device will have its share of the market before it is completely gobbled up by PC-based virtual reality headsets like the PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook account, HTC said, "We will be starting the new year by making an additional 7,000 units available to developers, followed by commercial availability in April 2016. We are incredibly excited about the future and look forward to sharing more information as we move forward towards launch."
HTC also announced that it will host a developer conference in Beijing on Dec. 18. The company said that it will release the second generation HTC Vive Developer Kit at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show and will participate in key events like the SXSW, MWC, GDC and The Sundance Film Festival.
Initial demos of the HTC Vive proves that it is better that the PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift. The HTC Vive offers more immersive virtual reality experience compared to the other two devices.
The HTC Vive, compared to the PlayStation VR or Oculus Rift, is on a completely different league. It is the only device that allows a user to walk around an entire room. The virtual reality device has sensors that allow a user to walk around a space of about 15x15feet.
According to Gizmag, the HTC Vive evokes a sense of heightened presence that increases the overall virtual reality experience of the user.
HTC is yet to announce the official price of the HTC Vive. The company did not announce when the device will be available for pre-order, although experts estimate that it should be somewhere around the end of 2015 or early in 2016.
