Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire has conquered the world of junior featherweights once again after he outslugged Mexico's Cesar Juarez to reclaim the vacant WBO crown.
According to Rappler, the judges' scores were in favor of the Filipino-American fighter, 117-109, 116-110 and 116-110. Donaire closes the year once again a world champion. This time before a lively crowd at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto.

In the early rounds, Donaire (36-3, 23 KOs) punished Juarez (17-4, 13 KOs) with sharp right hands to the head and also beat up his body. Donaire dropped the Mexican fighter twice in the fourth round, hitting Juarez with his right hand and landing his trademark left hook. However, Juarez withstood both knockdowns and survived the round.
According to ESPN, Juarez showed a lot of heart to stay in the fight even though he was being outplayed and nailed by an avalanche of punches. He landed a few hard shots of his own, however, and Donaire's left eye was swelling by the fifth round. In the sixth round, Donaire hurt his left ankle when he slipped to the canvas during an exchange.
Donaire slowed down and the Mexican attacked for the rest of the bout. Juarez did damage in the eighth round and cut the Filipino warrior over the right eye. In the ninth round, the Mexican had been successful in landing punches as he had Donaire on the ropes. Donaire, however, endured his persistent attack.
In the 10th round, Donaire landed a shot that caught Juarez on the nose, which erupted with blood. But Juarez was able to retaliate when he landed a left hand to the head and Donaire went down. However, Referee Ramon Pena ruled it a slip.
Juarez was way behind the scorecards and knew that a knockout punch is what he needs to win. Donaire connected with an uppercut and rocked him again with the same punch later in the final round.
