The film welcomes back the original stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and General Leia (no longer Princess Leia). Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew will also appear as C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca.

The first thing we know from the trailer is that there are new characters. Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, and John Boyega as Finn are the kids from a new generation. There are also new villains, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, and Andy Serkis as Supreme Lord Snoke.

The Force Awakens happens 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi when Han Solo, Leia, and Lando, played by Billy Dee Williams, led the rebels to victory, and Luke Skywalker had a final showdown with his father, Darth Vader.

As per the trailer, there is a new desert planet called Jakku where Finn, Rey, and BB-8 are introduced. Fans learned from Cinema Blend that there are different names of the two sides. What was once known as The Empire is now First Order, while the Rebel Alliance has become The Resistance.

Rey, one of the main characters, was abandoned in Jakku when she was five years old. On the other hand, everything about Luke Skywalker is a secret, which leaves fans with only theories and speculations about his whereabouts.

A new robot comes into view. BB-8 will surely become a favorite for most children and adults.
