Football Transfer Rumors: Real Madrid Set to Land Eden Hazard for £75M; Chelsea Targets James Rodriguez

(Photo : Getty Images) Real Madrid and Chelsea are reportedly preparing what is virtually a direct swap between Chelsea's Eden Hazard (L) and Real Madrid's James Rodriguez this January.

Two potential transfer moves between La Liga giant Real Madrid and Premier League defending champions Chelsea FC are rumored to be set this January. The speculated deals will essentially switch places Blues' winger Eden Hazard and Los Blancos midfielder James Rodriguez.

Metro reported that Real is preparing a £75 million bid for Hazard, who was the Premier League Player of the Season and Chelsea Players' Player of the Year awardee in 2014-2015. The 24-year-old Belgian was also a two-time Chelsea Player of the Year recipient and is arguably the main driving force of Jose Mourinho's championship team last season.

However, Hazard had not been playing up to his standards lately, having no goals in 14 appearances for Chelsea so far this season, which had allegedly led to a deepening rift with Mourinho.

The Blues are reportedly fine in selling the Belgium international for at least £75 million and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez reportedly "will do everything in his power to land" Hazard.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express indicated that Chelsea, in turn, is interested in bidding for Rodriguez at a still undisclosed price.

Real is said to be okay with letting the 24-year-old winger go because of his rumored relationship fallout with current club manager Rafa Benitez.

Bleacher Report also noted that the "Colombian playmaker is prepared to leave the Santiago Bernabéu in the near future, and his agent Jorge Mendes is already planning an escape route to the Premier League, with Manchester City also in the running to capture the talent."

However, the report continued that Rodriguez's heart is set on a move to the Stamford Bridge moving forward in his career.

If these two rumors will develop into real transactions, then both clubs are set to benefit. There is really no use for teams to keep unhappy players that do not get along with their coaches. Ultimately, the organization has to choose between coach and player and it seems like both Real Madrid and Chelsea are favoring their respective coaches in this instance.
