"Attack on Titan", an anime derived from a manga with similar title, was expected to be released before the year ends. However, director Tetsuro Araki has announced that this is not the case. 

The "Attack on Titan" announcement was made at a  press conference, which was held for the live version of "Attack on Titan 1: Crimson Bow & Arrow." Araki confirmed that Season 2 of the anime will be released in 2016.

Because "Attack on Titan" manga version is only a couple story arcs ahead of this series, it just seems reasonable for Araki to just wait for the manga version to complete at least 4 of the story arcs prior to working on "Attack on Titan Season 2."

The unfolding of the events in "Attack on Titan Season 2" is going to feature the story of the Titans against the 104th Trainees Squad fight and the story of the king's dethronement due to corruption. Erwin Smith will lead "The Uprising" and "Clash of Titans" plot will also be followed.

"Attack on Titan Season 2" will most likely uncover the sources of Eren's capabilities, which relates to his father who is believed to be alive. It is also expected to reveal some additional humans who can transform into titans like the character of Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Braun, who can transform specifically into the Armored and Colossal Titans.
