The report came from The Wall Street Journal and claims that people familiar with the matter provided them with the information. Aside from the two previously mentioned features, Samsung is allegedly also working to add a retina scanner to some models of its flagship devices.
The launch date of these devices is expected to be in March 2016. With three months left to work on its devices, experts believe that Samsung could still make a lot of changes tp the devices.
In addition to the new features, Samsung will also offer a curved-screen Galaxy S7 Edge, which is based on the design of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Rumors also indicate that Samsung is working on an upgraded camera for low light photos.
Samsung is yet to confirm the authenticity of the report. At the same time, the South Korean tech giant is yet to comment on rumors that the Galaxy S7 will use the faster and more powerful Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm.
Rumors are circulating that Samsung is planning to reintroduce support for storage expansion via memory cards which was last integrated into the Galaxy S5. Speculations also indicate that Samsung will lower the starting price of its flagship devices by as much as 10 percent.
Tech experts expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S7 a day before the official opening of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, on Feb. 21, 2016. Considering the timeline, the device is expected to hit the market sometime in the middle of March 2016.
