Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman: Arkham Knight

Rocksteady's last Arkham game was Batman: Arkham Knight but the studio seems to take the project seriously as if it were its last game.

New screenshots of Batman: Arkham Knight emerged during Gamescom in Germany this week. The title was to have been released this October but was held off until June 2015.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PCs.

The game is set one year after the Arkham City events following Joker's death. Batman's enemies aren't wreaking havoc in Gotham but Arkham Knight will have a new group of villains led by the supervillain Scarecrow disrupting the city and plotting to kill Batman.

Even the weather is said to be breathtaking, setting the whole tone of the game and shrouding it in darkness and an atmosphere developed only for next-gen consoles.

Arkhamverse compiled screenshots of the game that show several new weapons and moves, including Batman's batarang, the Batmobile and Arkham Knight's set of machines.

The batarang is reportedly remote-controlled while Batman has new moves in tandem with his Batmobile in battle mode.

Players also get to drive the Batmobile for the first time in Arkham Knight.

The Batmobile makes the player feel almost invincible with its ability to jump, burnout and boost while being bulletproof. The Batmobile is summoned by simply pressing a button that also allows a player to eject himself from the car at high speeds.

Batman: Arkham Knight also has new weapons such as the Bat-scanner, a star-shaped device Batman controls for surveillance.

Batman will also have a video chat hologram on his wrist and an afterburner mode that allows the Batmobile to rev up even more. There are unlockable combo moves, as well.
