The Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare is coming soon as EA debuts the zombie shooter game on The Drop for PlayStation this week. The multiplayer and co-op game will be released for the PS3 and PS4 on both retail and digital on Aug. 19.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare lead gameplay designer Chris Fox said that they wanted to offer something special for PlayStation fans that's why they created a set of exclusive hats based on PS characters. The hats are available for pre-order and there may still be time before the game is launched.

A new Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare DLC is also now live for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The DLC pack is called Suburbination and it brings the action game into the suburbia. The DLC offers a lot of new content such as the new Crash Course Map available in Gnome Bomb, Garden Ops, Tem Vanquish, Vanquish Confirmed and Sububination, new Suburbination game mode, new Garden Ops missions, Zombies such as The Treasure Yeti, Yeti Imp and baron Von Bats and bosses and lastly, the choice to dominate the suburbia with almost 400 customized items and a new character.

To earn points, the new mode will in encourage the team to have objectives to accomplish. The best player needs to score all of the points found the map which will allow him to place his rival team in a Suburbination state where they need to work to get out of.

PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is available for those with Origin accounts to play for free on PC for three days. This is part of EA's Game Time program. Players can take advantage of this deal by adding Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare to their Origin game library. The Game Time clock will start once the player launches the game so download and installment time are not counted in the 72 free play hours. However, the clock will countdown whether the player is actually playing the game or not.

The free trial brings all of the game's features including the Boss mode, split-screen co-op mode and the 24-player multiplayer game where the player can choose whether to become a plant or zombie. It also allows unlocking of weapons and characters.
