It is also expected to sport an edge-to-edge screen design. It is also reported that Apple is planning to remove the 3.5 mm head phone jack from its devices starting with the iPhone 7. It will reportedly allow the company to make the phone even thinner.

Apple will make users plug in their head phones through the lightning port, instead of the head phone jack. Also, users will be able to use their Bluetooth to connect to wireless head phones. A lightning port for the iPhone head phones has been in the rumor mills since 2012.

The design of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will receive a revamp in 2016. It will sport a full body metal look. The new metallic phone is expected to be thinner than the current model of 7.1mm iPhone 6. Apple is expected to do away with the LCD screens for its phones as well. The screens of the new devices is expected to be updated to the superior OLED.

The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus already come with a water proof design, but this time Apple will actually announce that the flagship phones will be waterproof. The designers worked on a patent technology that will push the water out of the phone to prevent it from spoiling the battery and other important components.
