Huawei Mate 8 Boasts Upgraded Chipset, Excellent Battery Life, Improved Fingerprint Scanner

Chinese company Huawei has unveiled its newest flagship smartphone at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show. Dubbed Huawei Mate 8, the smartphone sports major hardware improvements as well as the software interface embedded on top of the Android operating system.
The Huawei Mate 8 boasts a large 6-inch HD screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. In comparison, the display size of the Mate 8 is slightly larger than that of the iPhone 6S Plus.

The Mate 8 is also the first smartphone to run Huawei's own Kirin 950 octa-core processor. The new Kirin 950 promises to boost CPU computing power by as much as 100 percent and GPU performance by 125 percent.
Huawei also went over the top with the Mate 8's camera. The flagship smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear facing camera integrated with the all new Sony IMX298 sensor. For selfie photos, the Mate 8 has an 8-megapixel front facing camera equipped with a "beauty algorithm" which Huawei claims helps in "taking the perfect selfie." Both cameras can shoot 1080p HD videos.
After a quick look at the specs sheet of the Huawei Mate 8, one can tell the most stand-out feature. The Mate 8 boasts a massive 4,000mAh battery pack and fingerprint scanning capabilities.
Huawei claims that the battery pack can last up to two days under normal use on a single charge. With the Kirin 950 at the heart of the Mate 8, the smartphone can deliver up to 70 percent more power efficiency.
The Huawei Mate 8 also supports quick charging technology. A mere 30-minute charge time can give the Mate 8's battery pack up to 40 percent worth of power that can last for a full day.
The Huawei Mate 8 costs $643 for the model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage space. The model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space costs $750.
It has been confirmed that the Huawei Mate 8 will be released in 30 countries. However, Huawei is yet to announce when the smartphone will hit the United States.
