Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska beat Alison Riske of the United States in the Shenzhen Open final on Saturday to claim her 18th WTA Tour title with a comfortable 6-3,6-2 triumph in China.

The tournament's top seed continued her fine form from the end of the last season campaign when she won several titles at Tokyo, Tianjin and the WTA Finals in Singapore.

The championship match was dominated by the Polish player who served nine aces and saved both break points she faced. On the other hand, the 97th-ranked Riske, who was a 2014 Tianjin Open winner, saved four of seven break points in the final, which lasted 1 hour, 17 minutes.

With her impressive game performances, Radwanska is set to go up to be the World's No. 4 replacing Maria Sharapova of Russia ahead of this month's Australian Open in Melbourne.

The Shenzhen Open winner was happy with the outcome of her game against Riske and admitted that her delivery bailed her out on a number of occasions.

"I think Alison was really playing solid tennis today," Radwanska said. "She has a very powerful game from the baseline, I was really struggling from the baseline. I was really in a lot of trouble there."

"But my serve really helped me today. Also, in the deciding points, I was a little bit better and I think that's why the score was the way it was - it made it look easier than the actual match was."

Radwanska started tennis at the early age of five; she is now 26 years old. On July 9, 2012 she reached her career high singles ranking of world No. 2. She was a finalist in the 2012 Wimbledon. The pole plays right handed (double handed backhand) and is being coached by Robert Radwanski.
