CBA Rumors: Xinjiang Flying Tigers Could Sign Former NBA Slam Dunk King Nate Robinson

Former NBA player Nate Robinson will workout with the CBA's current league leader Xinjiang Flying Tigers and is on his way to China.

According to Basketball Buddha, traditionally, when a team flies a player for an individual workout, it means they are in the final stages of signing the player.

The former NBA guard is still a free agent and may continue his basketball career in China. The last time he appeared in an NBA game was on October 28, 2015 for the New Orleans Pelicans in a 112-94 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Robinson is 5 feet 9, but he is the NBA's first three-time slam dunk champion, reigning for the years 2006, 2009 and 2010.  

In his ten year NBA career, the former NBA journeyman has made nearly $US25 million. He was the 21st over-all pick of the 2005 NBA draft selected by the Phoenix Suns.

He has played for several ballclub in the league; New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden States Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets and Loss Angeles Clippers as well as the Pelicans.

During his stint with the Knicks, Robinson scored his career high of 45 points against Portland Trail Blazers on March 8, 2008. He was named Eastern Conference Player of Week on January 28, 2013 when he playing for the Chicago Bulls.

He played college basketball for the University of Washington and was named twice to the All-Pac-10 first team in 2004 and 2005.

Robinson confirmed on Instagram that he is leaving United States for China. If he signs with Xinjiang, he would be replacing former LA Lakers guard Andrew Goudelock who is averaging 20 points per game.

Nothing is final as of this time, but if it comes to fruition, the arrival of Nate Robinson would make the CBA even more popular.
