CBA News: Top Ranked Sichuan Blue Whales Loses to Liaoning Hunters, Xinjiang Flying Tigers Wins, Holds Solo Lead

Liaoning Hunters snapped the eleven-game winning streak of the top ranked Sichuan Blue Whales with a 111-94 victory in the 30th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday night.
The game was close in the early two quarters with the scores tied at the half. The Hunters managed to speed up in the second half and displayed an imposing defense to bag the victory.

Liaoning converted 17 of 18 free shots from the foul line for a 94.4 shooting percentage, forcing the Blue Whales to 20 turnovers.
Former NBA player Lester Hudson, who was the 2009 NBA draft 58th overall pick selected by the Boston Celtics, led the score with 36 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Import forward Shavlik Randolph contributed 26 points and 4 rebounds. Chinese superstar Guo Ailun added 19 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists and Li Xiaoxu contributed 17 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist for the winners.
Former NBA player and Iranian superstar Hamed Haddadi paced the Blue Whales with another double-double performance of 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Sichuan's American reinforcement Mike Harris netted 21 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist.
The win was the ninth consecutive victory for Liaoning and improved the team's standing. Liaoning is now in third place together with Guangsha Lions having 23 wins and 7 loses.
Sichuan, on the other side, suffered their sixth lose of the tournament and dropped to the second spot of the league standing with 24 wins.
In the other match of round 30 of the CBA, Xinjiang Flying Tigers strengthened their hold of the top as they outlasted the tenth ranked Shanghai Sharks 112-103. Former NBA players Andrew Goudelock and Andray Blatche scored 35 and 26 points respectively for Xinjiang, who improved to 25-5 record. The Flying Tigers now lead the league alone with the loss of the Blue Whales.
