Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng has tendered a second offer to Corinthians for the services of the Brazilian defender Gil.
According to Brasil Global Tour, the Chinese top tier club has confirmed the proposal.
"The information is correct, we have presented a second proposal directly to the president of Corinthians," Shandong's representative in Brazil, Joseph Lee, told Globo. "I do not know if we are optimistic, we can only talk when we are certain of doing business. Talking about values is beyond my limit."

The Chinese club will likely have to meet an $11 million release clause to secure Gil's services.
Earlier, the 2015 Brazilian Championship Serie A victors Corinthians turned down an offer from Shandong Luneng as the Chinese outfit did not meet its $11 million release clause for the Brazilian defender. Ninety percent of the total transfer fee would go to the Timao, while French team Valenciennes, Gil's former club, will get the other 10 percent, according to Sambafoot.
Carlos Gilberto Nascimento Silva (popularly known as Gil) has made five appearances for the Selecao and played for the Brazil national team in 2014 against Colombia and Ecuador.
The 28-year-old was an integral member of the Corinthians squad that claimed the Brazilian league title last season.
In recent months, Shandong had found success in acquiring the midfielder Diego Tardelli.
However, Gil's teammates, former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato, midfielder Elias and goalkeeper Cassio have all turned down offers to leave Timao.
Pato rejected an offer from Tianjin Quanjian recently in hopes of a European comeback, while Cassio expressed his satisfaction with the club.
"No way, [I'm not leaving]. I am a Corinthians player. I have just become a champion. I have history here," Cassio said. "I'm very happy here. Very happy indeed. All I am thinking about is helping the club win more titles."
Elias has also indicated his desire to stay with the side, regardless of the generous deal that Hebei China Fortune is offering.
