Basketball News: CBA's Guangdong Southern Tigers Signs Former Karsiyaka Player Justin Carter

American professional basketball player Justin Carter has signed to play for the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.
Carter played for Pinar Karsiyaka basketball club in the Turkish Basketball Super League and in the Eurocup. He will be joining the Chinese basketball superstar and former NBA player Jianlian Yi at Guagndong. The club currently sit in the fifth and sixth place in the league with 25 wins and 10 losses. They have the same win-loss record with the Guangsha Lions.

Carter, 29, has managed to play in three leagues this year. He played for 13 games in the Turkish Basketball Super League averaging 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Carter also had a short stint in the Euroleague where he registered 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.9 steal per game in the total of 8 basketball matches he played. He also had three-game tenure in the Eurocup where he recorded 8.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game average.
Carter played college basketball with the Creighton University of the NCAA Division I from 2008 to 2010 that presently competes in the Big East Conference. Carter is listed 6 feet 4 and 200 pounds and can play the position of a shooting guard and a small forward.
He played a total of 65 games for the Bluejays while averaging 8.85 points, 5.92 rebounds, 1.88 assist, 0.91 steal and 0.38 shot block per game.
The former Bluejays player signed with the Galatasaray Liv Hospital basketball team of Turkey in late December 2014 and played for the ballclub for the rest of the league's 2014-15 season.
In the 2010 NBA draft, Carter went undrafted making him an unrestricted free agent. He then moved to Slovakia for the 2010-11 season and signed with BK Vahostav-SK Zilina. After that, he moved to Turkey to play there for several teams.
