Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Inc. is reportedly planning to launch a Windows 10 variant of the much awaited Mi 5 smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 handset is expected to be unveiled on Feb. 24 during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

This isn't the first time a Xiaomi device will run on the Windows 10 operating system. The Chinese company launched Windows 10 variants for the previous Mi 4 model and Mi Pad 2 tablet.
In terms of the features, both Mi 5 models are anticipated to come with similar specs.
According to Xiaomi's Senior Vice President, Liwan Jiang, the phone will sport an IPS LCD display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, instead of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is confirmed to pack Qualcomm's latest and most powerful chipset to date, the Snapdragon 820.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the Mi 5 will support dual-SIM functionality and NFC connectivity. Other specs could include 4GB of RAM, 16GB/64GB of built-in memory storage, a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 6 megapixel front-facing shooter, an ultrasound fingerprint sensor and a battery that will support the Quick Charge 2.0.
In the meantime, Xiaomi recently announced the new update of its Windows 10-powered Mi 4 handset.
Last year, Xiaomi still remained the top smartphone maker in China, ahead of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and Apple Inc., according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. Also, some of Xiaomi's smartphones are now officially available in the United States market, via wireless carrier US Mobile.
